Elena Del Pup

Elena is a PhD candidate in Bioinformatics at Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. Her work is focused on developing automated computational pipelines for natural product discovery in plants. Elena obtained her BSc in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Pisa on a full Honors’ scholarship from Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, and her MSc in Plant Sciences at Wageningen University, with a specialization in Plant Breeding. Her passion lies at the interface of science and societal change and she has experience in leading and growing volunteering initiatives in this field. She co-founded Progetto Bio[Tecno]Logico for scientific communication in Pisa, she is a former Board Member at GeneSprout Initiative for youth-led advocacy on New Breeding Techniques, and she is the Founder and President of The Good Scientists for connecting scientists with mission-driven organisations for social and environmental impact.
